THE SURVEY RESULTS ARE IN…………..Back in the fall I sent out an email encouraging Peace members to take part in an on-line survey. The survey’s intention was to better assess the life cycle stage of Peace. We had 14 people participate.

According to the survey’s creators, a congregation can experience seven life stages: birth, growth, maturity, plateau, the beginning of the end, drop out, and death. If you would like more information about these specific life stages, ask and it will be given! The results of the survey show the top two areas in the life-cycle as identified by the participants.

Peace’s highest survey mark in the life cycle was MATURITY. The survey explained the maturity stage this way: “This life stage is marked by many successful ministries run by committed leaders and active members. There is confidence in the future and the sky is the limit for this thriving congregation…………”

Peace’s second highest survey mark in the life cycle was GROWTH. Once again, in the words of the report: “This life stage is marked by a passion among leaders and the core members to fulfill the organizing vision, which results in more organized structures for ministry. A well-developed inclusion strategy points new believers and and new members on a clearly defined path to discipleship and participation…………”

I take this news to be very positive, yet, with some challenges. In order to maintain our vitality, we will need to continue to refocus, reignite and perhaps, reshape the vision we so deeply believe:

Peace Lutheran Church is a Christian family. God’s love empowers us to serve one another and extend our family into our community in a warm and welcoming way.

And, of course, look to improve and establish ways to better make disciples of Jesus.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT………….The Philomath Police Department has asked that Peace partner with them for National Night Out. Last year was a great success and this year should be just as good, if not better! The planning team will meet no more than 3 times leading up to the event on Tuesday, August 4th. See Pastor Lucke if you would like to be on the team. Philomath needs your ideas!

SALMON AND JAZZ……………….Tickets are for sale for Philomath’s Salmon and Jazz on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Scout Lodge. The cost is $30 for adults and $15 for children under 12. Proceeds from the dinner and auction go to support the Philomath Youth Programs and Scholarships. See me if you would like to attend!

GAME NIGHT THIS FRIDAY………….”Please give your answer in the form of a question.” I hope you have been practicing. This Friday we will join together for pizza at 6 pm. Bring a side dish or dessert to share and a drink. After dinner we will be playing Jeopardy. Feel free to bring other games if you would like.
