SUPPORTING THE CAUSE……..The family of Peace is being blessed with the opportunity to partner in some extraordinary causes. It is important for you to know what these causes are and how you can pray for them and participate as they take place.
Peace is hosting the Willamette Zone LWML Spring Rally tomorrow, Saturday, April 22 beginning at 10 AM. We are expecting 70 or so ladies for a time of devotion, encouragement, and fellowship in our Fellowship Hall. What is LWML and what do they do? The mission of LWML “is to assist each woman of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the pledge of the world.” We can give thanks to the ladies of Peace for hosting and keep in prayer this uplifting event.
Peace is also hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, April 28 from 1 PM to 6 PM. In case you didn’t know, the ARC mission statement is “to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.” We have 51 out of the 52 spots filled for blood donation already! There is one time slot at 3 PM left. You can sign up online at www.redcrossblood.org using the sponsor code: philomathcommunity. The blood drive will accept walk-ins too! Thank you, Lord, for this opportunity to serve those in need!
Salmon and Jazz is right around the corner too. The event will be held on Saturday, April 29 from 5 PM to 8 PM in the Philomath High School auditorium. This a wonderful evening bringing the community together to raise money for important youth programs in the Philomath community. Tickets are $25. Come and see me if you would like to attend.
ADULT BIBLE STUDY……..This week we are taking a look at chapter 29 in the book Believe. The topic will be gentleness. The virtue of gentleness throughout the Bible, carries three practical ideas: thoughtfulness, consideration and calmness. Brad will be leading us in another worthwhile discussion. We will begin at 9:45 AM in the sanctuary.
