FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN………..As of this morning, 240 volunteers have signed up for the Feed My Starving Children event at the Benton County Fairgrounds on May 6th and 7th. We still have room for 260 more volunteers. I highly suggest that you sign up soon to participate as volunteer spots are being taken faster than expected.
What is the event? Feed My Starving Children is a community wide event that packs meals on-site for God’s children in need around the world. Our goal is to pack 100,000 meals over two days with 500 volunteers.
How do I sign up? 1. Sign up online. Click on this link: http://volunteer.fmsc.org/register/site/PackingSessionSearchResults.aspx?mode=4&n=0&l=&s=&b=2016-04-07&e=2016-06-06&d=&eventid=1021&statuscodes=&eventname=&eventnumber=&numberofgroupmembers=0#.VwanFvkrKUl.
- Sign up at church on the bulletin board. It simply takes two hours to volunteer. Select one of the five two-hour time slots: Friday 4:00-6:00, Friday 6:30-8:30, Saturday 9:00-11:00, Saturday 12:00-2:00 and Saturday 2:30-4:30.
How do I donate? Collect all your coins and place them into the box in the narthex labelled Feed My Starving Children. You can also donate directly online at www.fundraising.fmsc.org/corvallis. On Sunday, April 17th we will have a baked potato bar for fellowship–donations will go to the event.
We are off to a great start–I am pleasantly surprised by the interest level in the community and even beyond! Thanks for your partnership in this worthwhile service opportunity!
BLOOD DRIVE.…………..Tomorrow is Peace’s second ever Blood Drive. Thank you for all those who have volunteered to assist! As of right now, we have 49 of the 51 slots filled. Pray for a good day for donors and the workers involved.
ESTHER…………This Sunday we are covering Chapter 20 in The Story. This covers the amazing story of Queen of Esther found on pages 275-289. As you read and prepare for adult Sunday School and worship, consider the following: “The book of Esther has been named “the godless book” because God’s name is never mentioned. Prayer, the Law, sacrifices, and temple worship are absent. Where can you find God’s supernatural blessings in the story anyway?
MEN’S BREAKFAST…………This Saturday, April 9th is the Men’s Breakfast. If you plan on attending, please contact Oscar so that we can get an accurate food count. Eric Niemann, Philomath City Councilman, will be with us to give an update on Philomath happenings. Breakfast starts at 8:30 am.
