HAPPY NEW YEAR……………Come and celebrate the new year with your Peace family. We will have a time for open hymn sing and communion. The service begins at 7 pm (tonight–December 31st).
Someone famous once said, “We can never go back and change what has been said and done, but we can always learn the lessons to make things better next time.”
I like that quote and am thankful that we do not have to go through this process all by ourselves. We have been given the Holy Spirit. One of the special roles of the Holy Spirit is to “enlighten” us. This teaching makes us better for that next time whenever it comes.
I am looking forward to a great year ahead! One of my personal goals is to become more teachable and open to the Spirit’s directing. Where is God directing me? What skills can I develop to better serve you and the Kingdom? What lessons can I learn? How is the Spirit enlightening us?
SUNDAY WORSHIP……….We are back to studying The Story. Bring your books Sunday and be ready for great discussion in Sunday School. We will be discussing chapter 13: The King Who Had It All (pages 175-192). Sunday School begins at 9:45 in the sanctuary.
HEALING SERVICE…………Come for special prayers and words of encouragement during Peace’s Healing Service. We gather at 9:00 am in the sanctuary (Jan. 3rd). This is a very helpful ministry for those experiencing challenges of any kind. Or…..if you just need to pray, it would be great for you too!
MEN’S BREAKFAST………….is this Saturday, January 2nd at 8:30 am in the fellowship hall. This month we are going to spend extra time brainstorming on topics of interest for the new year. This is an excellent opportunity to better get acquainted with your Peace family!
MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING……….Good Samaritan Hospital is putting together special training for mental health care. The statistics are staggering. Only 2 to 4 % of a congregation needs access for a first aid kit. Nearly 50% of a typical congregation, however, needs needs access for mental health care at some point in their life. If you are interested in participating, come and talk to Pastor Lucke. The class is on January 16th from 9 am to 4 pm.
