CHRISTMAS PROGRAM……….This Sunday (December 11th) is one of my favorite worship opportunities at Peace throughout the year. The children lead us in worship with the Christmas program. And we get to sing Christmas carols! The service begins at 11. You will want to be at church early to get both a parking space and seating in the sanctuary.
To make the Christmas program even more special this year, there are a couple things you can do in preparation for Sunday.
First, you can help us decorate the Christmas tree on Friday night (December 9th) at 6 pm. We will start with pizza at 6. Bring a side dish to share and drink for yourself. After dinner we will have a white elephant gift exchange. Bring a wrapped, “white elephant”, gift to participate in the exchange. We will then quickly move into the sanctuary to decorate the Christmas tree. Many hands make light work. Ellen is making her special hot chocolate for all to enjoy!
Second, come to the program on Sunday and enjoy! At the end of worship seek out a youth or child and give them a word of encouragement. The leaders, youth and children have been working hard in preparation for Sunday.
SANTORA FUNDRAISER………..The fundraiser is at Shepherd of the Valley on Saturday (December 10th) at 4:00 pm. This is an opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done for the ladies in your life. The event is a hot chocolate themed Trunk Show with proceeds going for the Santora’s adoption and to provide a sustainable source of income for third world and depressed communities. Please contact Callie (541-220-8425) to RSVP.
ADULT BIBLE STUDY…………We are taking a look at Chapter 14 of Believe this week. Our topic is Bible Study. Be thinking of an impactful Bible Study that you took part in. How did God speak to you or through others in this study? How does Bible Study deepen our relationship with God? Hebrews 4:12 says, “The word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” We will begin at 9:45 in the fellowship hall.
