PHILOMATH FIRE AND RESCUE.………..I have not had the opportunity of meeting the volunteers and staff of the Philomath Fire and Rescue in an emergency situation.  Thank goodness!  But I did get a chance to meet them this week as I was asked to give the Invocation at their promotion ceremony at the Benton County Historical Museum.  In my prayer I made reference to the truth that the peace and security we have is one of the greatest gifts of God.  “Thank you for using the Philomath Fire and Rescue volunteers and staff to bring this security and safety to Philomath,” I ended my prayer.

Consider thanking your local firefighters and first responders.  It was very encouraging for me to hear about all of the improvements Philomath Fire and Rescue has made.  Their remodeling efforts with the building are getting closer to being finished.  Each volunteer and staff member has gone through significant training to enhance their skills.  It is clear to me that all of this has been done in order to make our community the best it can be.  We are so blessed!

HEALING SERVICE………….This coming Sunday at 9 AM is our Healing Service.  All are welcome.  This service gives the elders and pastor an opportunity to pray for you, others and our community.

SPECIAL ROTARY PRESENTATION…………Rotary will not meet at its regularly scheduled time next week–Tuesday at noon.  There will instead be a special presentation at the LaSells Stewart Center at 6:30 PM.  Dean Rohrs will be speaking on “Courage Against Prejudice”.  All are invited to hear about Dean’s experience living through apartheid in South Africa.

SONG SUGGESTION BOX.……….It’s back.  Don’t forget to leave suggestions for songs to be played for worship in the box.  The box is located in the narthex by the doors.  Please give us as much information as possible so that we can do our best in finding and playing the song.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL…………Take a look at chapter 19 in Believe before Sunday as we discuss the topic, “Giving My Resources.”  Class begins at 9:45 in the sanctuary.  A Bible passage that captures our discussion well comes from 2 Corinthians 8:7, “Since you excel in everything–in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you–see that you also excel in this grace of giving.”
