JERUSALEM……JUDEA and SAMARIA………THE END OF THE EARTH……………We have just started our summer Adult Bible Series on the book of Acts.  All are welcome–please come!  We begin at 8:30 each Sunday morning in the fellowship hall.

In Acts 1:8 we have a break down of the movement that happens within the first generation of Jesus’ disciples.  Jesus says, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”  The book of Acts is the detailing of the powerful happenings at “home” for Jesus’ disciples in Jerusalem (1:1-8:4).  Acts then moves and covers the movement to Judea and Samaria (8:5-12:25).  And then of course, to the end of earth (13-28).

What does this have to do with my life–seems so informational with little relevance?

I would like to suggest a healthy way to apply the Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the end of the earth principle into your life.

It starts by considering this:  How is God moving me to act on His behalf locally?  There are many ways to support the work that is being done in Philomath–June’s Kids Kloset, the Community Garden, Love Inc., prayer groups, Bible Study, fellowship with other believers, etc.

From supporting God’s work at home, we do begin to think about projects that the Lord is doing “globally”.  We have some great examples of past Philomath students who are now “being Jesus’ witness” in places outside of Oregon.  One person that comes to mind is working hard to support a college ministry in Colorado.  Another couple is planning to work in the Middle East as a missionary to Muslims.  How can you (how can Peace) begin to think about supporting the Lord’s movement also in other places?  For example, “Could I include in my prayers more often challenges that Christian Churches across the world are facing?”

What I like about the Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria and the end of the earth principle is that it comes directly from Jesus.  Jesus wants us to live in balance–supporting those godly causes that are at “home” and also considering in prayer and support the challenges abroad.

Let’s continue our discussion about this.  I am sure that you have causes that are more relevant and need just as much attention as the ones that I offer.

I hope you have a great Father’s Day weekend!

AED TRAINING……………This Saturday is Peace’s AED/CPR training at the Philomath Fire Department.  We would like as many people as possible to attend.  Please let me know if you plan on making it as the trainers will need to set up extra supplies.  The class begins at 10 am.
