HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY………….It is time to give our mothers the honor and respect they greatly deserve. This coming Sunday Peace will be giving thanks to God for the special mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and great-great-grandmothers (yes, there are some!) that He has given to us. Proverbs 23:22 says, “Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.” When commenting on these words from Proverbs, Martin Luther said, “God requires of us to love and cherish our parents as precious gifts.”
A recent article listed the top things all moms say to their children. Do you think this list is true? What saying would you add?
- “Don’t look at me with those eyes.”
- “One day you’ll thank me.”
- “Because I said so, that’s why!”
- “God gave you a brain, use it.”
- “I’m not asking, I’m telling.”
Mothers also tell us that they love us. And for this, we should all give thanks. I pray for God’s presence to be with you as you remember those special phrases and sayings your mother shared with you.
