OBSERVATIONS………….The Lucke’s are so thankful for time with family and friends! We spent Memorial Day weekend with my family in Spokane as we celebrated my mother’s 70th birthday. What a blessing it was to visit my “home” congregation on Sunday–Beautiful Savior. Although many of my old friends and the congregation have faced challenges, God has remained faithful.
From Spokane, we flew to Phoenix on Monday to see Alicia’s brother Alex and his family. This was a very special time for us as we were able to also see Alicia’s parents. On Wednesday night I baptized Alex’s baby son, Caden. It was a great time to have simple conversation with family about the importance of baptism and the permanence of God’s promises.
We certainly have missed our church family at Peace. I am so thankful for wonderful leaders, a supportive church culture and of course, the faith we share. It will be blessing to be with you soon.
We are wrapping up our travels and will be back tomorrow (Friday) afternoon.
COMMUNITY GARDEN…………Come and get your garden on! Come and join the Lucke’s and other volunteers from Peace (and Philomath Community Services) as we spend some time cultivating Lupe’s Community Garden. Meet at the garden at 9 am. Bring gloves, a weed-eater, extra large pieces of cardboard if you need them, and look forward to some hard-working fun. Snacks will be provided. The garden is located behind Philomath Community Services (north of Philomath Blvd. on 9th Street). Call or text Alicia if you are coming.
GRADUATES……………..Keep our graduates in Peace in prayer as they count down their days in school. Those graduating from High School are Megan, Josie, Karl, Derek, Eric and Adam. Those graduating from college are Aaron, Bryson and Audrey. The Baccalaureate service for Philomath is this Sunday at 6 pm in the PHS auditorium.
STONEYBROOK………….This Sunday Peace is hosting the hymn-sing worship service at Stoneybrook at 3 pm. It is always nice to have a few extra voices as we come together.
