DAILY LIFE…………This week we are discussing Chapter 2 of Believe. Read chapter 2 this week and come to the adult study at 9:45 in the sanctuary.
One of the great points made in this week’s lesson is this: God is personal. God takes a personal interest in you!
I do receive quite a few impersonal requests. Just yesterday we received mailings that invited us to do all sorts of activities. One invited us to buy candy at their sale. Another asked that if we buy one hamburger, we could get another free. A third offered a discount on our next oil change. I am not so quick to respond to impersonal requests. Perhaps you can relate.
The Bible is full of requests. Think of the statement from Matthew 6, “….Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.” We are more willing to respond to the Bible’s requests because the person behind is quite personal: God.
God is indeed personal. God came down and stooped to our level by living and then dying for us.
As you think and prepare about our discussion this Sunday, consider this question and thought. Do you believe God is involved in and cares about your daily life? If the answer is yes, then we should live each day as if it were true. How can this thought change your life for today?
MOVIE NIGHT……..God’s Not Dead Part 2 will be shown Friday, September 16 at 7 pm in the fellowship hall. We will not have dinner before, but we will have a whole bunch of popcorn and drinks. Look forward to seeing this movie with you.
