Children & Youth Ministries
Peace Lutheran church hopes to support children and young adults as they build their faith foundation through weekly instruction and a caring and positive environment. Sunday School (typically held during the school year), a Nativity play, and worship service involvement are examples of how we care for, inform and include our youth.
Ladies Guild
The Ladies Guild is a very active group in our congregation. They meet on the first Thursday of each month and plan ways to serve the church family and broader community. The annual Ladies Guild Bazaar (in the fall) is a favorite happening in the area. Seek out Kay Glathar if you want to find out more!
Men’s Breakfast
The Men of Peace gather the first Saturday of the month (except July, August, & September) in the Peace fellowship hall for breakfast at 8:30 am. We aim to put into practice the words of Proverbs 27:17, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Mark Koeppe is the contact for this ministry: ppd1104@comcast.net.
Dementia Warriors
The Dementia Warriors strive to improve the whole family’s journey with dementia through peer-to-peer support, socialization, education, information and basic self-care techniques including diet, exercise and lifestyle changes. Backpack Ministry
The Philomath Backpack Ministry provides backpacks and supplies to homeless and people in need. Work parties gather three times a year to gather items and supply backpacks. Email philomathbackpackministry@gmail.com for further information.
Pieces by Peace
Pieces by Peace is a group that joins in fellowship to create crafts and art projects. The hope is that these items will then be featured and sold at the Ladies Guild Bazaar. The group meets on the second Monday of the month at 10:15 am. Talk to Jani if you would like to attend.
Tables of Peace
Tables of Peace are gatherings of eight (or so) people for a time of discussion and the sharing of food. The groups change up throughout the year so you can meet even more of the church family. Linda Schuerman organizes these groups. Contact Linda (lschuerman35@gmail.com) if you want to join!
Freezer Meal Ministry
Peace’s Freezer Meal Ministry plans, prepares and makes freezer meals. The meals are stored in our freezers at the church for distribution to those in need in the congregation. The team meets once every three months. Contact Janette Payne if you have any questions (jaypeez@aol.com).
Eat, Chat and Pray
The ladies of the church gather each Wednesday at 7:30 am (in the fellowship hall) to catch up on happenings, encourage one another and join in prayer. This is a great way to get to know others and place concerns through prayer in the Lord’s hands. Elaine S. leads this group.
Men at Imagine
Men from the church and broader community join for an early coffee and discussion at Imagine Coffee every Thursday morning at 7:00 am. We meet in the back room. Contact Dave Leding if you have any questions (d.c.leding@gmail.com).
