Peace Lutheran Church
We welcome you in the name of the Lord Jesus. We are honored with your presence. If you do not have a church home, you are invited to join us regularly. Please introduce yourself to Pastor Jeremy Lucke or one of the Ushers as you leave today and sign the guest book in the entryway. We continue to observe the guidelines for health safety. If you have any questions, please see an usher. Everyone is welcome.
The ringing of the bell and the lighting of the Christ candle mark the beginning of our service and a time for quiet meditation, prayer and inward reflection as we begin our worship.
Children are welcome at our worship services. If you prefer, Peace Lutheran has a playroom equipped for children three years old and younger. The room is unstaffed and can be accessed in the fellowship hall where the service is also being live streamed for your convenience and enjoyment.
Holy Communion is celebrated every first and third Sunday and will follow the order of service in the bulletin. If you are a baptized Christian and share our faith in Jesus as Savior and have been instructed in the meaning and use of the Lord’s Supper, you are invited to partake. We have pre-wrapped communion wine or juice and wafers. We also have gluten-free wafers available. If you desire a gluten-free wafer, ask the server. May the body and blood of Jesus, present in the bread and wine, be a blessing to you.
There are times during the service when you will be asked to stand if you are able. Please feel free to remain seated if standing is difficult.
Offering. Peace Lutheran Church understands and teaches that Offerings are voluntary and to be from the heart. Whether we give or do not give does not determine our salvation. Whether we give much or little does not determine our standing before God. Sharing an Offering is an opportunity to quietly practice generosity with our neighbors.

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
OPENING BLESSING
Leader: In the name of the Father and of the X Son and of the Holy Spirit.
OPENING UP TO GOD AND ONE ANOTHER
Leader: The deliverance of the Lord comes to us today as we gather in this house of prayer, united as one with all people who trust in the name of Jesus. Let us search our hearts and minds, bowing before our gracious Gather and confessing our sin to Him.
~~~~~ Silent Reflection ~~~~~
Leader: Delivering Lord, You invite all people into Your holy house of prayer.
People: We confess that we have not kept justice, choosing to go our own way instead of following Your direction. We admit that we have not lived righteously, breaking Your commands by what we think, say, and do.
Leader: Saving Lord, You invite all people to know Your mercy.
People: At the cross of our Savior, Jesus Christ, You defeated our enemies of sin and death. Help us to live in this victory, trusting in Your promises, and gathering with all Your people to praise You name forever. Amen.
Leader: Deliverance has come to you! Salvation is yours! To both Jew and Gentiles, to those of every nation under heaven, the Good News of Jesus has been given! God has heard your prayer for mercy and has offered you a place in His kingdom. As a called and ordained servant of the Word, and by the authority of Jesus, my King, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the X Son and of the Holy Spirit.
People: Amen.
HYMN OF PRAISE “How Deep the Father’s Love For Us”
Praise Team
Stuart Townend; © 1995 Thankyou Music
How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son,
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory.
.
Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders,
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there,
Until it was accomplished,
His dying breath has brought me life,
I know that it is finished.
.
I will not boast in anything,
No gifts no pow’r no wisdom,
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward,
I cannot give an answer,
But this I know with all my heart,
His wounds have paid my ransom.
Leader: Let us Pray. Gracious Father, we give thanks and praise to You, O God, for making Your house a place of prayer for all peoples.
People: You have blessed us with Your grace and salvation!
Leader: Through the Gospel, make us voices of invitation to all people
People: that with us they may serve You with joy and gladness all our days.
Leader: We pray this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
People: Amen.
SCRIPTURE LESSONS
The Lord’s salvation comes for all peoples.
Thus says the Lord: “Keep justice, and do righteousness, for soon my salvation will come, and my righteousness be revealed.
6 “And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord, to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be his servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it, and holds fast my covenant—
7 these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”
8 The Lord God, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, declares, “I will gather yet others to him besides those already gathered.”
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
People: Thanks be to God.
EPISTLE Romans 11:1-2a, 13-15, 28-32
God will reveal His mercy to all people.
1 I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel?
13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry 14 in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them.
15 For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?
28 As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
30 For just as you were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience,
31 so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now receive mercy. 32 For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord.
People: Thanks be to God.
A Canaanite woman shows great faith.
21 And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.”
23 But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” 24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26 And he answered, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
27 She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”
28 Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.
Leader: This is the Gospel of the Lord.
People: Praise to You, O Christ.
SERMON HYMN “How Great is Our God/How Great Thou Art” Medley
Chris Tomlin | Ed Cash | Jesse Reeves; © 2004 Rising Springs Music; Vamos
The splendor of the King,
clothed in majesty,
Let all the earth rejoice,
all the earth rejoice.
He wraps Himself in light,
and darkness tries to hide,
And trembles at his voice,
trembles at his voice.
.
How great is our God,
sing with me,
How great is our God,
all will see how great,
how great is our God.
.
Age to age He stands,
and time is in His hands,
Beginning and the End,
beginning and the End.
The Godhead, three in one:
Father, Spirit, Son,
The Lion and the Lamb,
the Lion and the Lamb.
.
How great is our God,
sing with me,
How great is our God,
all will see how great,
how great is our God.
.
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God to Thee;
How great Thou art,
How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God to Thee;
How great Thou art,
How great Thou art.
.
O Lord my God!
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds
Thy hands have made,
I see the stars,
I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow’r thru’out
The universe displayed,
.
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God to Thee;
How great Thou art,
How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God to Thee;
How great Thou art,
How great Thou art.
People: We believe in God, the Creator of all things, the source of all goodness and love………….
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, true God yet true man. He was crucified, died and was buried for our sin that we might be free and know the joy of life. He was raised on the third day and ascended to heaven, and will come again in power and glory to judge both the living and the dead………..
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the power of God at work inside of us………….
We believe in the church of God, the people of faith throughout the world……………
We believe that our sin is forgiven and that we will live together with God for now and throughout eternity. Amen.
OFFERING
We offer our thanksgiving for what God has first given us—our selves, our time, our possessions.
Praise Team
Leader: Let us pray for all the people of God, the Church, those who have been called out of the darkness of sin and death and into the light and life of the kingdom that is eternal.
Leader: Gracious King, we praise You as the Creator and sustainer of life. From the womb to the tomb, and at every stage of life, Your hand is upon Your own, giving us all that we need to support our daily lives. United as one, we praise You, O Father. Lord, in Your mercy,
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: Saving King, we praise You as the Savior and redeemer of life. Your nail-scarred hands and pierced side give evidence of the lengths to which You have journeyed in order to seek and save the lost. Made right with You by the shedding of Your innocent blood, we are recipients of what we could never earn or deserve. United as one, we praise You, Lord Jesus. Lord, in Your mercy,
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: Holy Spirit, we praise You as the restorer and renewer of life. You claim Your family through the outpouring of mercy that we experience in Baptism. You enable our hearts to receive Your Word and our mouths to confess Your truth before our world. United as one, we praise You, Holy Spirit. Lord, in Your mercy,
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: Sovereign King, You see all things in heaven and on earth. Nothing is outside Your watch and reign. Bless our families, our workplaces, our schools, and our church. Sustain the life of our community, and guide the leaders who labor among us for the blessing of all. Protect those in harm’s way, especially the members of our military, that they may rest in Your promises. Lord, in Your mercy,
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: Mighty King, Your strength is unmatchable and Your power unfathomable. Break down any barrier of heart and mind that would distract us from seeing Your work in our midst. Draw unto Yourself for restoration those who hunger and thirst, those in need of food and shelter, those who experience loss of employment, and all who struggle to find purpose in their lives. Cause Your Word to reach to the ends of the earth, bringing Your saving message to the lives of all people. Lord, in Your mercy,
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: Healing King, You stooped down from Your heavenly throne to dwell among us in Christ. As You continue to bind up the brokenhearted and heal their wounds, we pray for all who are sick and suffering in any way, (especially………). Help these and all others whom we name in our hearts to know the love You have for all peoples. Lord, in Your mercy,
People: hear our prayer.
Leader: Into Your hands we commend ourselves and all those for whom we pray, trusting in Your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
People: Amen.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom,
And the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen
